Sustainable Justice 2002 was the first of a series of international legal events. It took place in conjunction with ENVIROLAW 2002, a major conference to be hosted by South Africa’s legal community in Durban. ENVIROLAW 2002 ran from 22-25 August 2002 and was officially endorsed by the organizers of the World Summit for Sustainable Development (WSSD). Results of both conferences, as well as other key events for the international legal community such as an upcoming UNEP Global Judges Symposium in Johannesburg, were profiled at the WSSD in an Official Side Event and display at Ubuntu Village.
