Ms. Oana Dolea, BA (Hons), is a Legal Researcher for the CISDL and a B.C.L., LL.B. candidate at the McGill University Faculty of Law in Montreal, Canada. Before beginning her law degree at McGill, she completed a double major programme in economics and international relations at the University of Toronto’s Trinity College. During her studies in Toronto, she collaborated as a research analyst and Communications Director with the University of Toronto’s G8 Research Group, focusing on the European Union, nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament issues. She has also been involved in research on the situation of minorities in South-Eastern Europe. This involvement culminated in a field research opportunity in Kosovo in 2003 focusing on the place of women in Kosovar politics. The University of Toronto’s Attache Journal of International Affairs published a summary of this research, entitled “Women in Politics: Testing Democratic Progress in Kosovo”, in 2004. Her current academic interests include legal system reform in post-conflict and transitional societies, European competition law, intellectual property law and international commercial arbitration. Outside of her academic pursuits, Oana is a keen traveler, and maintains a long-running interest in clothing design, modern European history and various styles of music.
