Petia Draguieva, BA (McGill University), is pursuing her Master’s degree in Political Science at University of Montreal. Her research interests focus primarily on the relationship between human psychology and political participation. Petia’s interest in sustainable development law is driven by a search for a bottom-up perspective on changes in social psychology as related to democratization, market liberalization, and sustainable development. Petia has gained experience working with human rights law during her internships with the Bulgarian Lawyers for Human Rights Foundation and the Bulgarian Council of Ministers. As an undergraduate student she volunteered for the Rights and Democracy Student Network. She is fluent in English, French, Bulgarian, and Russian, and she enjoys all sorts of sports from dancing to diving. She is passionate about discovering new and unpopular music bands, writers, places, ideas; and she believes that it is up to each individual to drive changes to the better within societies.
