Ms Stefanie Khoury, B.A. (Distinction) McGill University, is a candidate for a B.C.L. at the Université de Montréal Faculty of Law and a Legal Researcher for the CISDL focusing on international law and gender research. Whilst pursuing her undergraduate degree in History and Political Science she spent a year at the University of Birmingham, England where she pursued her interests in social justice and environmental advocacy. She is a member of the Model United Nations, and has participated at several conferences throughout her academic career. She has also been involved with Firefly International, an organization aimed at peace and reconciliation amongst communities divided by ethnicity and war in Bosnia. This experience was a manifestation of her particular interests in human rights, post-conflict resolution, gender equality and sustainable development. After graduating, Ms Khoury intends to pursue international human rights law and women’s advocacy. She is fluent in English and French, and has an adequate knowledge of Spanish. Her other interests include travelling, painting, cooking and writing.
