Prof. Armand de Mestral,

Professor Armand de Mestral teaches constitutional law, international trade law, and the law of the European Community at McGill University. He holds an A.B. and L.L.M. from Harvard University, a B.C.L. from McGill University as well two Doctorats honoris causa (Université de Lyon, 1995; Kwansei Gakuin, 2002). Prof. de Mestral is the holder of the Jean Monnet Chair in the Law of International Economic Integration and Co-Director of the Institute of European Studies (McGill-Université de Montréal). His current research interest is the law of international economic integration. He has prepared articles and studies in English and French on international trade law and on Canadian comparative and constitutional law and international law. He is currently at work on a new book on international public law. He is also president of the Canadian Red Cross Society.
