Professor Stephen Toope is Executive Director of the Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation. A former Dean of McGill’s Faculty of Law, Prof. Toope is a legal scholar specializing in public international law, human rights and legal theory. A graduate of Harvard, McGill and Cambridge, Professor Toope served as law clerk to the Rt. Hon. Brian Dickson, Chief Justice of Canada. Professor Toope has been a member and chair of the board of directors of several civil society organizations devoted to the promotion of human rights and international development.
