Mr. Verki Michael Tunteng, B.Eng. (McGill), is a Legal Researcher of the CISDL and an undergraduate student at McGill University Faculty of Law. Trained as an engineer, he has participated in the International Space Station Programme and in the certification of passenger aircraft. He also worked as a Team Leader with the Year 2000 Contingency Planning Unit with Canada?s federal government, helping to develop emergency plans for government wide critical installations. Additionally, he is pursuing studies in business at Cambridge University and is currently working on his major consulting project. His primary research interest is in renewable energy, bringing a technical and business perspective to the development of sustainable development policy. In 2005 he authored a paper on wind energy that presented current technologies as well as future research and development priorities. His work was also a survey of policy in the world?s leading markets, and an application of the conclusions to the Canadian market. He speaks French, Spanish, English and German and has studied other languages. In his free time he studies dance, music and reads all forms of literature.
