Mme. Emily Wheeler
CISDL Assistant Manager

Emily Wheeler, B.A. (McGill), is manager with the CISDL, coordinating the secretariat in Montreal, as well as Associate Fellow. Ms. Wheeler brings to the CISDL a strong interest and bright experience in administrative and managerial tasks, and a dedication to promoting the work of the CISDL. Ms. Wheeler graduated with a degree in Political Science and History, and a minor in Economics in December, 2004. Ms. Wheeler previously worked at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, conducting research on the current reconstruction of Afghanistan, paying particular attention to the role of gender in this process. While in D.C., she served as a consultant to the Academy for Educational Development, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of education in the United States and in developing nations around the world. Her work in these positions was a product of Ms. Wheeler’s dedication to promoting education as a key component of development, and of her desire to work for gender equity in the world. Given these fields of interest, Ms. Wheeler is particularly committed to becoming more engaged in international human rights law. She plans to enter the international development sector professionally. Mme. Wheeler speaks both Spanish and English.
