Mr. John Roman Picherack is an Associate Fellow with the CISDL and a B.C.L/LL.B candidate at McGill University Faculty of Law. With the CISDL he is conducting research and drafting various sections for the IDLO Manual on Project Finance and for the Corporate Social Resonsibility(CSR) Book Project. He is also presently an Executive Editor of the McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy (JSDLP). His interest in sustainable development took hold when he spent a summer living in the Costa Rican jungle working on community infrastructure and capacity development projects with ASOPROLA (Associacion de Prodotores Organico de L'Amistad). He has also travelled extensively in East Africa. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of British Columbia, where he focused on intersecting issues in international political economy, peace and conflict studies, human rights, and international development studies. His current academic interests are in comparative corporate governance and corporate social responsibiliy, sustainable project finance, natural resource and energy law and policy, international trade law, and international arbitration and alternativedispute resolution. He speaks French and English.  He will be a Summer Associate with the law firm of White & Case LLP in New York for the summer of 2007.
