Melanie Charbonneau, LL.L./LL.B. Candidate (Ottawa), B.A. Hons. (Carl), is an Associate Fellow with the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL) and Project Coordinator with the CISDL Americas Eco-Health Assessment Law initiative. Ms. Charbonneau also currently works as a Senior Appeals Officer for the Canada Border Services Agency and volunteers for the Ontario Bar Association. She has previously worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Public Safety, Justice and Environment Canada. Ms. Charbonneau’s current research interests include biodiversity, international trade law, corporate social responsibility and human rights. She completed her B.A. in Law and Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, and is currently completing two law degrees. She is fluent in English and French, and has conversational Spanish and Tagalog.
