Dr. Duncan French, Ph.D. (Cardiff), LL.M. (Nottingham), B.A. (East Anglia), is a senior research fellow of the CISDL. He is Rapporteur of the International Law Association's Committee on the International Law of Sustainable Development. He is a lecturer in Public International Law at the University of Sheffield, UK, and the departmental co-ordinator of the LLB European, Comparative and International Law Degree. He was formerly a lecturer at the University of Reading. Dr. French’s main research interests are public international law, international environmental law and the legal implications of sustainable development. He has written numerous articles on the above topics and is currently writing a book on the legal response to sustainable development for Manchester University Press. He is a member of the International Law Association British Branch Committee on International Environmental Law.
