Dr. Giada Giacomini

Associate Fellow

Ph.D (Sapienza, Italy), M.P.S., BA Pol.Sci. Postdoctoral researcher at the Geneva Graduate Institute.
Dr Giada Giacomini is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Hull, UK. Her expertise lies in public international law, human rights, environmental law, non-anthropocentric approaches to law, and the accountability of International Organisations. In 2022, she published her monograph Indigenous Peoples and Climate Justice: A Critical Analysis of International Human Rights Law and Governance with Palgrave Macmillan.  From 2024 to the end of 2025 she served as co-coordinator of the CISDL Natural Resources Programme.

Over the course of her career, Dr Giacomini has collaborated with internationally renowned institutions, including the Geneva Graduate Institute (Switzerland), the European University Institute (Italy) and the American University (Washington DC).

Currently, Giada is a Steering Committee Member of the Global Ecological Integrity Group, Director for Youth Engagement at the Center for Environmental Ethics and Law (US) and member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law.
