Mr. Gabriel Kpaka

Gabriel Kpaka is a dedicated Meteorologist with extensive experience in weather forecasting, climate modeling, environmental issues, and global climate change negotiations. He currently serves as the Deputy Director-General and Head of Operations at the Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency and is the UNFCCC Focal Point for Sierra Leone.
Gabriel coordinates the Mitigation and Science negotiations for the 46 Least Developed Countries (LDCs) under the UNFCCC and is a recognized expert on international climate policy. He is a member of the UNFCCC Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) and has proudly served as its Chair for two consecutive terms.
Academically, Gabriel previously led the Physics Department at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, and continues to support the department as an Associate Lecturer on a part-time basis. He brings to his work a powerful combination of analytical skills, technical expertise, and a deep commitment to sustainable development in vulnerable nations.
