Call for Pilot Learners | New Sustainable Development Law and Policy Online Mini-Courses Offered by University of Cambridge Experts, Democratising Education

Are you interested in a scholarship for a new, online certification in global sustainability and justice?

Would you like to learn how legal principles, policies and practices can promote the world’s Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the new Global Biodiversity Framework, and a Wealth Economy?

Do you want to advance your global sustainability law and policy career through world-class mentorship, engagement and networking?

Several world-class University of Cambridge and international institutes are partnering to launch a new online education and engagement programme to democratise education for global sustainability,  stewardship and justice. This innovative programme aims to inspire, educate and engage present and future generations of law and public policy leaders from around the world contributing to global sustainability. 

This April, through this pioneering programme, leading Cambridge and international professors are piloting their first four global online law and governance skills and capacity courses:

  1. Key Essentials: The Sustainable Development Goals and the Law

2. Key Essentials: The Paris Agreement, Sustainable Development and the Law

o   Dates: 25 April – 1 May

3.  Key Essentials: The Global Biodiversity Framework, Sustainable Development and the Law 

o   Dates: 25 April – 1 May

4. Key Essentials: The Wealth Economy, Sustainable Development and the Law

o   Dates: 2 – 9 May

Each pilot course provides 3-6 hours of total learning time, including four 30-minute sessions of recorded instruction from world-class University of Cambridge and international experts, which pilot learners can watch at their convenience during the week the course is running. Learners will also benefit from two 30-minute live classroom engagement sessions to meet their instructors and fellow learners, and from curated contents and materials, including recommended resources for further, more in-depth online learning at University of Cambridge. Individuals selected to pilot the course will also receive fully sponsored access to the new global course materials.

Upon successful completion of the pilot course and a post-course evaluation survey, learners will be eligible to receive a certification from leading experts of the University of Cambridge and global partnersLearners will also gain access to global sustainability careers mentorship, community of practice membership, networking and other benefits.

Those interested in applying for a scholarship to pilot one or more of the courses should express their interest via Eventbrite using the links above. After expressing interest, applicants will enter the selection process and receive a brief follow-up questionnaire that will focus on why receiving the scholarship and taking the course would benefit the applicant, and the importance of these challenges for the applicant’s community, country and/or region of the world.

The deadline to apply for a scholarship to pilot one or more of these world-class courses is Wednesday, 15 March, and those who apply before Sunday, 05 March will benefit from early action selections.
