Adv Omnia Taher Gadalla is an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Sharia at the historic Al-Azhar University (970 AC)- Egypt (Business Law Department), PhD candidate, Cambridge LLM 2021/2022, Editor at Harvard Shari’a Source portal at Harvard Islamic Law, and Founder of #HerHonorSettingTheBar #المنصة_حقها Initiative in 2014 to combat discrimination against Egyptian women and defend their rights to be judges. She received several international awards as a recognition of her endeavors in the initiative, including Cambridge Platinum Award by Cambridge Law Society – Pro Bono project 2022, Justitia Award (Pioneers/ Game Changer/ Young Achiever) by “Women in Law” Initiative in Association with European Women Lawyers Association in Nov-2020 (Austria), “Future Leader” by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2019, one of 20 inspirational women leaders from the MENA by UNESCO, ASFARI Institute and AUB 2022.

Omnia is the Chair of the Environment Interest Group in the African Society of International Law and Rapporteur at the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law, Columbia University and member of the International Advisory Board of the African Women in Law Institute – USA.

Omnia also joined the United Nations Regional Program of International Law 2023 – Ethiopia, Paris Arbitration Academy- France, African Arbitration Academy – 2022- UK, “Women Judges from the Middle East” and “Women Leadership”, The Netherlands -2020, “Private International Law Course” at the Hague Academy of International Law July 2018. Omnia worked at top law firms in Egypt and Qatar and as a lecturer in private universities.
