Adv. Steven Gray

Adv. Steven Gray has 20 years of experience in climate-related policy and regulation, including energy transition and climate finance.

He works with lawyers across a number of practice areas to provide advice on climate regulation, carbon markets, climate risk integration and climate-related disclosure. He also supports clients develop strategies and manage sustainability-related risk, sustainability-related reporting, and disclosures, ESG due diligence, governance, compliance, policies, and processes. In 2018 he spent a year at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), placed in the International Climate Finance Directorate. He has also worked for the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness, was observer to the Climate Investment Funds, Forestry Investment Programme and an active member of investors and market associations. In 2013 he worked at the interim secretariat of the Green Climate Fund, he has worked with the Hoffmann Centre for Sustainable Resource Economy and the University of Cambridge, Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

For seven years he was at Climate Change Capital where he collaborated with leading practitioners and finance experts to invest in carbon markets and clean technology.

Steven holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a Master’s in Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
