Yuxi Shen is an LL.M. candidate at Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge. Her research explores the intersection of international investment law and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on how the SDGs inform and drive the reform of investment treaties and the investor–state dispute settlement (ISDS) mechanism. She is a member of Democratising Education for Global Sustainability and Justice (DemEd Global) program, contributing to a forthcoming investment law online course. She contributed as a legal researcher on the growing application of the ILA Sustainable Development Principles in international investment arbitration, and received the was awarded the Pro Bono Platinum Award from the Cambridge University Law Society in recognition of her commitment to public interest work.

Prior to her legal studies, she worked as a researcher in transcultural studies, focusing on intercultural dialogues. This experience shaped her understanding of the shared aspirations that unite humanity across cultural and ideological differences and reinforced her commitment to a more just and sustainable shared future. She has also been actively engaged in the education sector, where her practical experience highlighted the critical importance of intergenerational justice. This recognition has inspired her to pursue sustainable development law as a means to safeguard the rights and well-being of present and future generations.
