Adv. Harry Jonas is an international lawyer working at the intersection of area-based conservation and human rights. He is Sr. Director at the World Wildlife Fund where he coordinates the Conservation Areas Initiative. He has had a leadership role in the development of the international legal framework on ‘other effective area-based conservation measures’ (OECMs) and co-chairs the IUCN Specialist Group on OECMs. Jonas is an Ashoka Fellow and previously co-founded Natural Justice. In 2021, CISDL awarded him the Biodiversity Legal Specialist Award.
