Adv. Miguel Saldivia

Mr. Saldivia is a multi-disciplinary researcher in the fields of Environmental Law, Energy Law, Climate Change, and Communication. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Social Communication, both from the University of Chile, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Environmental Law and Policy from the University College London (UCL). His interests are focused on energy transition, climate change, and carbon pricing.

His Ph.D. research at the University of Cambridge focuses on the law and policy of renewable energies in Latin America. Particularly, Mr. Saldivia is looking at how the design and implementation of energy laws and policies can contribute to the entry of new actors in the energy market, and how those actors can trigger climate change mitigation and, at the same time, create social co-benefits for local communities.

Mr. Saldivia has worked as environmental lawyer and consultant. His practice has been focused on project development, due diligences, and environmental impact assessment. As a researcher, he also worked in several academic centres. He also has experience as a journalist and as an academic.
