Mr. Rodrigo Mella

Mr. Mella’s LLM studies are on the role of the law in the sustainable development of renewable energy. He also holds an LLM from NYU. Before joining CISDL, Mr. Mella worked as Coordinator of International Relations in the Universidad de Chile School of Law, and as a Junior Lecturer in Chile. Currently, he is working as Coordinator for CISDL Project “Legal Preparedness for Sustainable Development of Biofuels in the Americas” in collaboration with the Organization of American States and Law Schools from Jamaica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Dominican Republic and Canada. During 2013, he worked in several sustainable development and biodiversity research projects as Visiting Researcher at the Faculty of Civil Law of the University of Ottawa (Canada) and as a Researcher for the International Development Law Organization. His areas of expertise are trade and investment law, international environmental law, sustainable development and biodiversity law. Mr. Mella is fluent in Spanish and English.
