Ms. Ra’chel Thorpe-Blair

Miss Ra’chel Thorpe-Blair, LL.B (UoK), LL.M (Cantab), has a particular interest in Human Rights Law, global poverty and the effects it has on the population. She is currently an Associate Fellow at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, working on the Legal Brief for the Sustainable Development Goal 10. Ra’chel has also done pro-bono legal research work for the ILA Committee on the Role of International Law in Sustainable Natural Resources Management, as well as the Leverhulme Trust. As a teenager, she actively participated in the Young Leaders Programme through the Active Change Foundation which aimed to prevent the radicalisation of young people within London. During her undergraduate degree, Ra’chel was awarded the Hillier Prize for her tremendous efforts in the Law of Obligations, and she was also involved at the University of Kent Law School Clinic, advising on client cases regarding Family and Housing Law. She has had the opportunity to study law at universities in Canterbury, Beijing and Cambridge; she also enjoys reading, visiting museums and baking.
