Prof. Emmanuella Doussis

Prof Emmanuella Doussis, PhD (NKUA), DEA Droit Int’l Public (Paris I), DEA Droit de l’Environnement (Paris I), BA (NKUA), is a CISDL Governor and UNESCO Chairholder on Climate Diplomacy. She serves as Professor of International Institutions at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Director of the Institute of European Integration and Policy. Her research focuses on international environmental law, international organizations, and climate diplomacy, particularly in Southeast Europe.

She has been a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Bourgogne (2012 & 2013), Grenoble-Alpes (2018) and Aix-Marseille (2019) and Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, USA (2022). She has served as advisor to the rapporteur of the European Economic and Social Committee for the preparation of the opinion on EU Climate Diplomacy (2023). She coordinates a Jean Monnet module on climate policies and diplomacy in Southeast Europe (2024-2027). She is member of the ILA Committee on the Contributions of International Law to the Global SDGs and the Post-2030 Agenda, the Hellenic National Commission on Adaptation to Climate Change and head of the sustainability and climate programme of the think tank ELIAMEP.

She speaks French, English, Greek (native), Italian (basic knowledge). She love hiking, exploring world heritage sites, listening to ethnic music.
