Valeria has a broad research interest in socio-ecological transformations and their governance, which she studies through the lenses of complexity and network theories. She is currently researching the history of policies for climate change mitigation and their effects on the uptake of low- and zero-carbon energy technologies in Germany and the UK. Additionally, Valeria is affiliated with the ERC-funded project PolyCarbon, supervised by Prof. Katja Biedenkopf.

Valeria is a legal researcher for the Climate Law and Governance Initiative and an associate fellow for the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law since 2020.
